Art Classes
Sensory Fun (ages 18 months - 5 years)
Dates: Fall 2025 Location: 8 Medford Street, Arlington Center, MA
Join us for process art and sensory fun this fall! Each week's playgroups will offer a different theme and projects. We will sing songs, read a story, and then engage in some collaborative messy art and sensory play. These playgroups are geared toward children ages 18 months to 5 years, with a caregiver present.
Tuesdays 9:45-10:30 or 11:00-11:45; Tuesdays 3:45-4:30pm; Wednesdays 9:45-10:30; Thursdays 9:45-10:30
Thursday Afternoon Art Explorers (for children in Kindergarten through Second Grade)
Each seven week session, we’ll engage in open-ended art activities centered around a theme. This session's theme will be “Spring Fling.” Projects will be spring themed, and may include decorating flower vases and making flower suncatchers.
Process art (focused on the process of creating, and exploring materials and techniques, rather than on the finished product) is the foundation for all of our work at the Backyartists Art Studio.
These classes are for children in kindergarten through second grade and are drop-off. Enrollment limited to 9 and classes are 1 hour each for 7 weeks.

Baby & Toddler Messy Minis (6-18 months)
Dates: Tentatively scheduled for Fall 2025 Location: 8 Medford Street, Arlington Center, MA
Join Katelynn Fisher, a licensed Mental Health Counselor and art therapist, for a class specially designed for young children 6 to 18 months. Come join for a time of music and sensory exploration with other caregivers and their little ones! We will do circle time as a group and each week try different ways to have safe and age appropriate sensory exploration with easy take home ideas and tools. These classes are for children with a caregiver present. Enrollment limited to 8 and classes are 45 minutes each for 6 weeks.
